The Rules:

This month we're doing things a little different. In 2008 Mikhailtech will change its name to something better suited to the PC enthusiast community, along with a new identity. We want to better align the site with the web2.0/social networking movement and we need your help to come up with a new name! Here's what you need to get started:
  • Register in our forum if you haven't already done so.
  • Make a single post in this thread. The post can contain anything. This is simply letting others know that you entered.
  • Come up with as many domain names as you want and send them to Mikhail using the forum Private Message (PM) system. Use "December Contest Entry" as the subject line. Do NOT post your ideas publicly.
  • That's it! Contest runs until the end of 2007. The winners will be selected and announced the first week of January 2008!
When thinking of a name (or several), here are some guidelines:
  • The domain name has to be available all the way through the first week of January 2008 (so you better hope no one registers it!). You can go to Register.com to see if it's already taken.
  • The domain name has to be available with a .COM extension.
  • The domain name has to be a single word (no dashes, but it can be two words combined).
  • The domain name has to be unregistered or expiring the first week of January. Please do not submit Premium Domains (i.e. domains that have already been registered but are available for purchase).
  • The domain name has to be short, catchy, easy to remember/spell, and reflective of the current & future state of the PC enthusiast community.
  • If you have any questions, post them in this thread.
Additional information:
  • Please remember that Quality is better than Quantity. Only 1 domain will be chosen as the winner and this will be based on the factors listed above.
  • If two contestants submit the same chosen domain name (highly unlikely but possible), the contestant who submitted theirs first will win.
  • Each of the two winners will be notified via email (same address you provide during your forum registration) and will be given 48 hours to respond with shipping information.
  • Only U.S. residents may enter.
  • This page will be updated with a list of winners (using their forum usernames) shortly after the end of the giveaway.
  • Giveaway is subject to change without notice.
  • If you have questions or would like to discuss any parts of this giveaway, you can do so in this thread.

That's it! So put your thinking hats on, get in our forum and submit your ideas! Good luck!
