Yes, it still worked after this. For testing I used HD Tach RW and compared it to the following drives (click for individual reviews):
I ran the 8MB zones test with writing enabled. The results are below.

The Turbo comes out a solid 8.3MB/s ahead of the Voyager GT.

The access time is a tad slower than the Voyager GT, but it's completely unnoticeable and on par with most USB drives.

CPU utilization is likewise comparable to most USB drives. Note the high utilization on the Voyager GT.

In average read speeds, OCZ wins over Corsair by a whopping 8.2MB/s. For a flash drive this a big deal. It's a bit less than the advertised 33-35MB/s, but it sure comes close.

The average write speed difference is slightly less, but once again OCZ wins by 2.6MB/s. Again this is less than the stated 26-30MB/s, though not by much. From the drives we've tested thus far (and the current consensus across the internet that Corsair's Voyager GT was the fastest), it looks like OCZ is the new crown holder for the fastest flash drive in the world. We've sure come a long way the past few years - it seemed only yesterday that 2MB/s was "pretty fast". Of course blazing speed comes with a price: currently the cheapest offering for the 4GB model is $80. Is it worth it? That depends on what you need. A typical USB drive is still fully capable of "good enough" speeds and will cost you about half as much. However if you want the best, this is it.
Pros
- Unique look
- Rugged design (withstands pressure and submersion)
- Provided cap holder
- Currently the fastest USB drive in the world
Cons
OCZ's ATV Turbo is without a doubt the best you can currently get in terms of speed. It's also extremely durable and will withstand some serious punishment before calling it quits. Anyone looking for a USB drive to simply get the job done may want to search elsewhere, but if you want the best there is, look no further. Being the fastest drive out there, the Turbo receives our Editor's Choice Award. If interested, you can check prices at Froogle. Feel free to comment on this review here. Thanks for reading and enjoy the site!
