The P20MT is one of the smallest keyboards, especially wireless, that I have ever seen. That is excluding laptop keyboards. The slim design makes it easy to use and perfect for lap typing. It is also easily portable and can be used from up to 10 meters away with a clear shot of the receiver. The design of the keyboard allows you to be able to use the mouse features whether you're standing or sitting down. The trackball is located on the right and the mouse buttons are located on the left making it easy to navigate around your PC.
The LapWorks Futura Lapdesk does one thing well. It keeps your lap and your laptop cool. It achieves up to 20C cooler temperatures without noise, batteries or fans and relies completely on providing better ventilation to the underside of your laptop. The Futura also doubles as a Desktop Stand, but is too wobbly to be useful, unless you plug in a keyboard and mouse so you don't have to touch it when it's elevated. For $30 though, it's not a bad accessory to have in your laptop bag as it makes on-lap usage much more comfortable and could save your, ehm, bacon, as it were.
Seasonic power supplies have gotten a bit more stylish over the years, but we don't judge them by the outside. It's the circuitry on the inside that really matters. The Seasonic S12 II 500W power supply PCSTATS is testing today is exactly the same as the S12 model that came before it, except for the addition of a single conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitor on the all important 12V rail. The company hasn't replaced every single electrolytic capacitor in the unit with this type, just the one voltage rail where reliability is likely to matter the most.
When we opened the HIS Radeon HD 2600 Pro IceQ Turbo’s box we found that the card shipped with a DVI to VGA adapter, an S-Video Cable, HDTV output cable, and an HDMI adapter. The HDMI adapter is a new addition to the Radeon HD 2000 series of graphics cards and allows you to output 5.1 audio and video to a HDMI ready television. Also included in the bundle is the standard user manual and driver disk, along with a paper that gives you access to Half-Life 2: Lost Coast and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch through Valve’s Steam service.
The job of a power supply unit (PSU) is fairly simple: Take the 110 volt AC current from the wall and turn it into integrated circuit friendly DC, and at a fraction of the original voltage. A power supply, however, is much more than just a single transformer. Modern PSUs have at least five separate voltage outputs, and usually more. Each different power output is called a "rail": the -12 volt rail, the -5 volt rail, the 3.3 volt rail, the 5 volt rail, and one or more 12 volt rails. Each rail is an independent power source in its own right, monitoring and adjusting the voltage on its outputs.
GP-PS550BP is a very simple 550 W power supply manufactured by GlacialPower with all sales handled by GlacialTech, featuring passive PFC and no extra fancy features, coming with a MSRP of only USD 65. We completely disassembled this unit to take a look. Is this a good buy?
My first hands-on experience with the T.Sonic 820 was a little like deja vu. Last year, I reviewed the T.Sonic 610 and the quality and craftsmanship is identical to the T.Sonic 820. I remember commenting on the 610’s flimsy, plastic feel, and unfortunately the 820 looks to be made from the same material. I think one of the biggest things manufacturers should do when they create any portable device is to make the chassis strong and sturdy. Hopefully, Transcend will take my suggestions into account with they develop the next series of T.Sonic players.
The C1 is thicker than other cloth pads I've reviewed or owned, being thick also makes it a bit springy and padded as well. The back of the Corepad C1 is a rubberized, textured surface to make sure the C1 medium stays put no matter what you do.
The R500 received a lot of hype right from the start because of a few important distinctions. First of all, the R500 was (and still is) the slimmest notebook currently available with an optical drive. Its 7mm thick drive allows a total closed system height of just 0.77". Not long after the initial announcement the R500 made more headlines when different SKUs were announced, one of which (the R500-S5003) was called the world's lightest 12" notebook. At 1.7lbs for model with a 12.1" LCD (though no optical drive) this version of the R500 is obviously an incredible system, though its 64GB solid-state disk also helps to set it apart from the crowd. The R500 also touts the longest battery life of any 12.1" widescreen notebook, though this is something that we will look into more closely.
All four of the SATA 2.0 ports are located on the PCB for internal usage with no external eSATA ports. There are two Serial ATA ports at the end of the PCB and the other two are positioned along the top. There are also two headers along the top of the PCB for connecting to LED activity indicators. The two ASICs on the SATA300 TX4 is the Promise PDC40718-GP and AMIC A290021TL-70F Parallel NOR Flash chip. This controller does not support drives in any RAID configuration.
