iONE is a division under MGE, a manufacturer of varieties of computer parts supplying the global market. Product coverage includes power supply, chassis, HDD enclosures, keyboards, wireless devices and speakers. Sales and distribution is under Eagle Tech in the U.S. Skyhawk is another brand under this umbrella of sales & distribution. It sounds complicated, but it is not uncommon to have multi-channels of sales of distributions amongst different brands within a corporation in targeting customer at all levels of interest and location.
ThinkPad T61p at XYZ Computing:
The notebook we will be looking at in this article is the ThinkPad T61p from Lenovo. This is the high performance version of the ThinkPad T61, the first notebook from Lenovo to use Intel's Santa Rosa platform. The T61p is essentially an upgraded version of the T61 with certain options that are mandatory and a number of performance benefits over the rest of the ThinkPad line. This is the most powerful ThinkPad currently available- and ever released- so it's been highly awaited by tech professionals and all sorts of demanding mobile users.
Inside the sleeve are the two film sets along with a card board instruction card. The attachment mechanism for this shield is a static cling adhesion. The film is composed of four layers which are a scratch resistant hard coat, high transparency gloss treatment, PET protection film, and a polymer adhesive.
1000W used to only be for kettles or heaters, but now your PC can be supplied with a kilowatt of energy. Several manufactures have had a go at the 1000W supply, and I’ve yet to see one that really stands out from the crowd. Today I have the SilverStone Strider which builds on the success of their many other power supplies. Have they got it right?
The rear of the ePower Technology EP-1200P10 xScale 1200W PSU is by far the most interesting. Most enthusiasts are still arguing about whether split or single 12 volt rails are better. How would you like to have the power supply that agrees with you no matter which side of the argument you are on? That's the ePower EP-1200P10 xScale!
I love SATA cable, it is easy to install, and looks better than the old 80-pin flat IDE cable. After you broke a couple of SATA HDD and board connectors, you are going to pay hell a lot more attention every time as I did. The SATA cable here is way too short. My blood pressure rises as I try to bend the cable a bit to make the connection.
The new 1333 MHz FSB Intel Core 2 Duo processors support Intel 64 technology, Enhanced Intel Speed Step (EIST), Execute Disable (XD), Intel's Virtualization Technology (IVT) and Intel's Trusted Execution Technology. That latter works in conjunction with compatible motherboards to protect the data stored on business PCs. Nothing new on any of these fronts.
GDDR4 memory is expensive at the moment and therefore not suited to a mid-range card. However, AMD is keen to push GDDR4 into the mainstream so that the price does eventually come down – this is something that Nvidia doesn’t seem to want to support. At the same time though, AMD also recognises that its partners might want to make GDDR3 versions of the HD 2600 XT in order to make the cards more price-competitive with Nvidia’s GeForce 8600 GT.
Besides the headset you also get a driver CD and a brief user's manual. I found that you don't actually need the driver installed on your system in order for the headset to function. Of course the built in driver in Windows XP doesn't support all of the functions that the USB sound card has, but it does function quite well. In order to get optimal performance you have to install the driver provided on the CD because it also includes a control panel that lets you adjust a lot of different aspects of the sound card.
At first glance you may not see any major changes in the Blitz Formula that differentiate it from other less expensive Intel P35 based boards. Having the board in hand for a matter of minutes changes these first impressions rather significantly. This motherboard has without a doubt the best and most functional layout of any board we've tested in recent years. We'll certainly elaborate on what led us to this determination as we take a closer look at the board's component placement.
