Thanks to Thermaltake for the product sample.
Thermaltake is one of those companies that tries to do a bit of everything without necessarily excelling in any given area. Most of their performance products are better-than-stock solutions, but other companies often beat them in raw numbers. Take heatsinks for instance. Tt is known for having extravagant designs and most of them do perform well above average, but companies like Swiftech and Thermalright still take the crown.

One of their newest additions is the StarForce series of fans. These dual blade blowers look like UFOs and come in blue, green, and silver colors. Of course they also a separate line of fans carrying the UFO name. Our fan was a 92mm model with plenty of lights and an expansion slot speed controller to boot.

Besides the awkward looking fan you also the get aforementioned rheostat, screws for installation, and an aluminum 80-92mm fan adapter. This is very helpful if you're trying to use the fan on a smaller heatsink or an 80mm intake/exhaust. There's also a foldout manual detailing installation of the StarForce on a cooler such as the Polo 735.

The unit itself is an oddity. It's basically a 92mm fan encased in a slightly tapered cylindrical frame. On top is a Thermaltake logo with multi-color LEDs beneath which steadily change colors every few seconds. Since both the blades and case are UV reactive, there is also a pair of small UV LEDs right next to the fan blades. On the back side is a set of fixed blades which function as part of the frame; supposedly these also make the fan more efficient.
