Thanks to Logisys Computer for the product sample.
The majority of computer customization accessories are basically revisions of some idea put forth by a single company. Take LED fans for instance. Antec was the first company to introduce fans with LEDs mounted in the frame; dozens of companies imitated their design shortly thereafter. The same holds true for most other products, but every now and then a completely new design emerges. Logisys did just that with their new Stove Fan.

The concept behind the Stove Fan is the mounting of LEDs directly above the fan blades rather that inside the motor or the frame. That's right, the LEDs spin with the fan blades. The unit comes in retail package shown above and is available in blue (with blue frame), red (with red frame), red/yellow (with clear frame), and blue/green (with clear frame). We received the latter.

The package contains the fan, a set of self-tapping screws, and a 4-pin pass-through molex connector. Physically the fan measures a typical 80 x 80 x 25mm and is rated at 12V (7V starting) with a power draw of 0.17A for a maximum power consumption of 2.04 watts. The fan speed is listed at 2600RPM while pushing 31.6CFM. This value seems a bit inflated when you factor in the turbulence caused by the spinning LED strips.

The rated lifespan is somewhat disappointing: 20,000 hours. This translates into a little over 2 years of continuous operation which, while more than enough for most users (over 4 years if you turn off your computer when you go to sleep), is significantly less than the 50,000 hours of most other fans. LEDs aside, the fan itself is a bit unusual. It uses 9 straight blades (as opposed to the 3, 5, or 7 curved ones found on other fans) and has a supporting frame on both sides. Both the frame and blades are transparent to allow for the light to shine through.
