One of the ways Chaintech plans to do this is by releasing several new products in the near future. Having only been exposed to Chaintech as a motherboard and VGA solution manufacturer I was pleasantly surprised to learn what they have in store. The first set of these products are two digital satellite receivers, the DBS-1000 (smaller version) and the DBS-2000. Both can store up to 5000 channels and can be SCART or RCA.
When these two items were shown during the presentation, a chuckle quickly went up from the audience. I, like many of my colleagues in the audience thought that these two items were simply regular PCI TV-tuner cards. This was not the case and we were in for yet another surprise to learn that Chaintech has developed both a digital satellite PCI card (DST-1000FTA) and Digital/Analog TV tuner card (D-A-DTT-100). Both of these cards should be well received in the Home Theater PC market.
The last items shown by Chaintech prior to the introduction of the motherboard and VGA product lines were the iMO-Desk PC and the LCD-PC. The iMO-Desk is an upgradeable desk-note computer that allows for the end user to swap hard drives, memory, and processors using standard sized parts as opposed to laptop sized components. The LCD-PC shares a flat panel with the iMO-Desk, but little other information was made available.
