As the name suggests, the HUSH is designed with silence in mind. The front of the retail box shows both the silver and black versions. Each side has a list of specifications, with further features and a description on the back of the box. FedEx really did a number on this package, especially evident on the rear of the box. Let's hope nothing is damaged inside. Below is a complete list of specs and features, borrowed from NZXT's website.
The Zalman 600W Heatpipe Power Supply is really not intended for the super hardcore gamer because of the low wattage, but most cases this power supply will be fine. This power supply is really best suited in a Home Theatre PC because it's ultra quiet even under maximum load. This power supply looks great, has a recessed quiet 120mm fan, blue LEDs on the inside, heatpipe and modular sleeved leads. Watch the video to find out more and check out the bloopers at the end.
The Rexflo DF128025BH-PWMG, DF129225BH-PWMG, and DF1212025BH-PWMG fans are compatible with three and four pin fan connectors, but only using the fourth pin will you be able to benefit from Pulse Width Modulation support. PWM can dynamically adjust the fan speed and thereby reducing the noise level. All three of the Rexflo fans we are looking at use dual ball bearings and have a life expectancy of 50,000 hours. The Rexflo 120mm fan can push up to 96 CFM of air while the 80mm and 92mm models can push up to 34.40 CFM and 55.39 CFM, respectively. With the other major area for concern, the Rexflow DF128025BH-PWMG, DF129225BH-PWMG, and DF1212025BH-PWMG fans have a maximum noise level of 29.50 dBA, 35.38 dBA, and 42.60 dBA respectively. The Rexflo products are all backed by a five-year warranty.
Taking a closer look at the cooler, I first notice that this cooler has an interesting angled set of radiator fins, which are directed downward. Not sure why the designers tried to do this; if anything, I would have thought they would have angled them upwards away from the motherboard. The cooler comes equipped with a large 100mm fan that can easily be swapped out for a different fan if needed.
For example, if you were to take four 1GB sticks of PC2-6400 DDR2 from four different vendors and install them all in one computer, chances are high the computer would just stare blankly back at you when turned on. Mixing and matching memory modules in this day and age is never a good idea, but it's particularly troublesome if more than 2GB of RAM is involved. Forcing four 1GB memory sticks of RAM from different manufacturers to work together often causes weird problems, if the computer boots at all.
The GameXStream then powered not only the master PC, but it also fed both 6pin slots on the 8800 Ultra, about 4 HDDs and 6 120mm fans not including the CPU coolers; oh, and each PC had a molex powered PhysX card in too :). Using Asus Probe and a multimeter for confirmation, we recorded the voltages of the rails over a 30 minute period with everything at idle and then loaded every component we could and repeated the result taking.
With memory prices having bottomed out, now is the time to upgrade your memory (better hurry, those prices are starting to rise again). While most consumers will look at this and say they don't need a FASTER kit (which if you are running a DDR2-800 kit, and aren't into overclocking, I agree), sometimes its more about HOW MUCH memory, not HOW FAST. Today HL takes a look at a quite impressively priced kit from Super Talent, the T800UX4GC5 4GB DDR2-800 4GB Memory Kit.
A-DATA supplied us with the green variant, but it is also available in an orange tone. There is a small hole so that you can put it on your key chain. On the front there is a green LED right under this hole, which let's you know when the USB stick is being accessed. There is a white A-DATA logo on the front and a dark URL of the company on the other side.
Asus describes the P5W DH Deluxe as "...specially designed for Gamers, Personal Workstation, SoHo, high-end and multi-tasking PC users." From the specifications list, the accouterments packaged with the motherboard and the advanced heat-pipe cooling they most certainly have provided the essentials for the board to live up to expectations.
It has the standard two SLI power connectors, both of which need plugging in for the card to work, and two SLI connectors, only one of which needs to be used for SLI. At the back of the card there are two dual-link DVI connectors that support HDCP. It also has the standard 768MB of DDR3, 128 unified shaders, and that NVIDIA new-card smell. The card has a very good stock overclock, with the core running at 621MHz and the memory at 2000MHz.
