Another feature is the removable "turbine cap". This comes with all three models and can be twisted on and off at will. It definitely looks better installed, but certain setups within a case might not permit for the required clearance. Unfortunately the precision on the hooks is a little off, so installing/removing these caps is a bit of a pain. You also can't use the blades for support while twisting it in because they're so thin they might break.

The final feature is the set of built-in LEDs. There are 4 blue LEDs present on each fan. These reside within clear plastic frames at the corners, with the frames aligned in a way that doesn't make them jut out. This is one of cleanest LED implementations we've seen on any fan.

The following shots are night (left) and day (right). The 3000 model looks pretty much like any other blue LED fan and also happens to be the brightest of them all.

By contrast, the black/chrome 2000 is the darkest, but once again it has the most unique look. The LED cases on the corners are also much more prominent here, adding to the already pleasant effect.

Likewise, the 1000 also looks unique. It's somewhere between the blue and black models in terms of brightness, but of all three models it has the best reflections. The motor cap on both of the chrome fans actually makes a pretty big difference in overall appearance. This marks our first official look at Aerocool's product line and overall, we're satisfied. Although some work needs to be done (making the caps easier to install/remove as well as offering more dimensions, airflow variations, and color choices), if you want some of the most unique looking 120mm fans and don't mind the low airflow rating, the Turbine series just might fit the bill.
Pros
- Very unique appearance (only 16 blade fans out there)
- Almost silent
- Highly reflective finish (on the chrome models)
- Well designed/placed blue LEDs
- Novel removable "turbine" fan caps
- Included screws and 3 to 4-pin adapter
- Perfect for showcasing low noise, black/silver systems
Cons
- Very low airflow for a 120mm fan - ironic given the name
- Only 3 available options (need more sizes, airflow variations, LED color choices, etc)
- Hard to install/remove fan caps (hooks lack precision)
Aerocool's new Turbine fan series is very innovative. While the fans do have some shortcomings, if you're looking for low speed, highly reflective 120mm blowers these are worth a second glance. If interested, you can find a list of resellers here.
