Nexus, proclaiming to bring ultimate performance at very low noise levels has released what it calls “some of the most advanced technologies in the market used for CPU coolers, claiming ultimate cooling performance with no to little noise. Talk is talk, but let’s dig in to the actual product.


Introduction

Today we will be looking at a pair of coolers from Nexus Dubbed the “XiR series.” These coolers boast the same design but are made of different materials; the 2300 aluminum, and the 3500 copper. Therefore, these coolers will be spoken of as if the same cooler for most of this review.


Specifications

Nexus lists the following specs for the XiR-2300:

Both of these coolers can be used for AMD CPUs all the way back to the socket 939/940 and Intel LGA 775 systems. It is important to note that these coolers have a fan controller onboard so be sure to disable the motherboard’s fan controller.
The pure copper bases of these coolers are polished to a mirror finish.

With a dBA rating of 15 at 1200 RPM, these coolers are absolutely silent when running, especially when inside a computer case.
