![]() ![]() The SIL More thermal paste is a rather generic paste that should not be used by those looking for maximum performance. As a comparison, Arctic Silver 3 is rated at 9 W/mK. The thee sets of stickers for the CPU cooler are interesting, but really aren’t too visible because of the curves of the side of the cooler. Still, it is neat feature that I haven’t seen before. The installation manual is rather basic and written in 6 different languages. More on that later. A Closer Look ![]() The contact area of the HOC-9000 is made from grinded down heatpipes which connect directly to the cooling fins. The base is rather unsmooth. It seems that it would benefit from a good lap job. ![]() The heatpipes themselves are 8mm in diameter rather than the standard 6mm. This should make the cooler more efficient at removing heat from the CPU and dissipating it in the fins. ![]() The curved sides of the HOC-9000 are designed to blow air over the CPU core. The surface area of the metal on the core seems like it is rather small, being mostly just a flat piece. ![]() « Nexus HOC-9000 CPU Cooler | Installation » |
